At some point in our lives we have all wanted to trek in the Himalayas. Some of us have made that thought a reality and some of us are still thinking about it. Anyway, there is always more to learn and more peaks to climb, the Himalayan list is not really exhaustive. The purpose of this article is to try to answer some of the questions you might have about trekking in the Himalayas.

We have tried to list down some of the best Himalayan treks in our opinion (however, it was quite difficult to choose as they are all absolutely beautiful and adorable). However, it is still useful to narrow it down and we really hope you can get good information from here. Make sure you have covered all types from east to west of the Himalayas covering ridges, lakes, valleys etc.

Kedarnath Trek

Kedarnath Trek is a remote but very famous pilgrimage site of “Char Dham” in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand. At an astonishing position of 3583m, Kedarnath is located near the Chorabari Glacier, the birthplace of the Mandakini River and is surrounded by various snow-capped peaks. The famous mountain of Kedarnath is also located near the site of Kedarnath. The Hindu pilgrimage site is visited every year by thousands of devotees from all over India.

Many people think that Kedarnath Trek and Kedarkantha Trek are the same, but both are different Treks and are also in different places. Kedarnath Trek is located in Rudraprayag district and Kedarkantha Trek is located in Uttarkashi district in Uttarakhand.

Kedarnath should not be confused with an easy trek, hikers unaccustomed to long journeys and high altitudes may encounter problems, so hikers are generally recommended to be in good physical condition.

Hampta Pass Trek

With tall dark pine forests, glacial valleys, riverside camping and more, the Hampta Pass trek is a complete package. The route includes over 40 sharp turns with picturesque views of Manali and the Kullu Valley. Short walks through pine forests follow. The sight and sound of rivers fill the air flowing vertically along the rocks, making the mountains seem like they were carved with a mountain knife.

The long walk to Hamta is a tough climb… through rocks and cold weather, followed by a river crossing that literally tests your motivation. But the panoramic view of the falls and the changing colors of the mountain at sunrise keep you motivated.

Beas Kund Glacier Trek

Beas Kund is the starting point of the mighty Beas River. The river originated and flows from the glaciers through the scenic meadows surrounded by mountains. From Beas Kund you can see Shitidhar, Friendship Peak, and Hanuman Tibba.

You can easily spot Dhauladhar and Pirpanjal mountain ranges with the help of Beas. On one hand there are the Pir Panjal mountain ranges and on the other hand there are the Dhauladhar mountain ranges. The Beas Kund trek is rich in flora and fauna.Beas Kund is also a favorite spot for shepherds, as you can see them camping with flocks of sheep and guard dogs. There is a sense of the purity of the environment that exists in its pristine glory. The water is the purest because it melts from the glaciers.

Chadar Trek

The Chadar trek can be described in one surreal word, but the trek is full of elements of its own. It is not only the mesmerizing scenery, the numb temperature or the thrilling walk that makes it so phenomenal, but the Zanskari people’s simplicity, adaptability and acceptance of difficult challenges fascinate most trekkers. As for the history of the road, the formation of thick ice during winters on the Zanskar River makes it easy for locals to use it as a bridge to connect to the other bank and stock up for the next few months. According to the story, the trek through the Cidar was so risky and unpredictable at the time that each villager made sure to cancel their debts and rights before starting the journey, just in case the river swallowed them on the way.

Chandrashila Deoria Tal Trek

In your Himalayan trek plan, don’t miss this. Although it is relatively easier, it is one of the most extraordinary experiences. Chandrashila is a popular trek for mountaineers of all types who thrive on colorful flowers and rich green, rhododendron, red and pink meadows and a gallery of magnificent snow-capped peaks. On the way to Chandrashila Peak, herds of peacocks and herds of deer can be encountered. The entire route runs along the beautiful Deoriatal lake. Chandrashila is famous for its majestic sunrise. When the sun slowly rises, the whole sky clears up to illuminate your face with the golden rays of the red sun. The lower hills next to the summit are clear with full view of distant abandoned houses and Nandadevi and Kedar peaks. It’s nothing but a miracle.

Kashmir Great Lakes Trek

Kashmir Great Lakes trek, also known as “India’s most Wonderful trek”, has 7 sublime high altitude treks. It really is a beautiful place for natural beauty and adventure. As you walk through the maple trees, you will be exposed to a great view of nearby villages downhill, including the village of Sonamarg.
